Ye Olde Steppes in the Summer Sun! Anyone for tea? We stock over 12 different types of loose leaf, locally sourced, fair trade tea. Come in and join us for a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake! | Established since 1777, Ye Olde Steppes is back open and welcoming to all!Ye Olde Steppes re-opened its doors once again in January 2012 to a crowd of over 70 Pembridge residents, keen to have their village shop back. Over the last 18 months the support for the village shop has grown with great reviews from tearoom users and increasing media interest. With articles in the Leominster Journal, Hereford Times and Hereford Journal as well as BBC Breakfast news presenting their show from inside the shop, the old building has once again been bustling with both locals and visitors from near and far. The people of Pembridge wanted a shop that provided convenience, great local produce, good quality and good value which we continue striving to deliver. Our produce ranges include: Swifts the Bakers - Fresh baked daily bread and Artisan loaves on Friday and Saturdays Country Flavours Free Range Eggs Marston Meats- Fantastic bacon and sausages The Dairy House: Delicious local cheese and yoghurt made in Weobley Suzanne's Veg - Locally sourced and home grown seasonal fruit and veg. As well as stocking local produce we also keep many basic essentials to make sure you are never stuck short. If we don't have it in the shop, we'll do our best to find a product as quickly as possible. Our vintage "Olde" style sweet shop with jars of goodies has been a real treat for after school. Why not stop for a quarter of lemon sherbets or some herbal tablets? Our 1940's style tearooms provide a lovely space to drink tea from our bone china tea cups or enjoy a big slice of Gary's home-made Victoria Sponge. The space has also become a favourite for our local Pembridge Ladies social group, a nice spot to watch the world go buy from the raised views over the beautiful village. Please pop in and say hello! We both look forward to seeing you very soon. Gary and Mark ![]() Ye Olde Steppes in 1908 when owned by Chester & Sons. The appearance of the shop hasn't changed much since then. |
